Jelly Baby

One of my childhood fashion memories involves clomping around in a pair of silver glitter heeled jelly shoes. They were my favourite shoes and I wore them almost everyday until my feet grew out of them. So imagine my excitement when I realised that jelly shoes are currently having a moment. They look cute and are perfect for our temperamental weather where the sun is shining one minute but the rain is falling the next. I found this pair in eBay for £13.99 plus postage which I thought was a small price to pay to relive my childhood

To A Tee

The classic T-shirt is one of those items that everyone should have. It's one of the most hard-working and versatile items in any wardrobe and is a piece that you will more than likely get the most wear out of.

Unconnected offer a selection of stylish T-shirts. As I'm a fan of New York and it's one of my favourite places in the World, I love the T-shirts below (£22)

Images are courtesy of Unconnected

These can be worn season after season and would look great with denim cut-offs for a fesival, with disco pants for a gig or thrown over a pair of jeans for a casual yet cool look

A Good Sport

I don't usually go for a sporty look and the closest I get to anything athletic is running for the train before collapsing into a fit of coughing but I thought I'd try something different and dip my toe into the trend. I featured this New Look Varsity  top (£12) in my previous blog post and I love it! The fabric is so smooth and comfortable and it the length of the sleeves make my arms look slimmer. (Anything that hides the bingo wings is a bonus) I wore it last night for some drinks with friends. I teamed it with a mini skirt from missguided and sandals from New Look. My necklace is also from New Look (£7.99) and my studded bag is from Zara

July Purchases

I just can't help but shop! In work I daydream about what I can buy on my lunch break or over the weekend and today I headed to New Look which is a 5 minute walk from where I work. (This does become dangerous at times)

For a while, I've wanted a baseball style top but they styles were either way too long or crop tops which don't do anything for my muffin top so I tend to avoid them! This style below (£12) is wearable and versatile and funnily enough, 23 was the age I was when I met my lovely boyfriend!

Now, as you know I'm a fan of monochrome but I'm also a fan of checks. Put them together and what do you get? The summery, yet work appropriate dress below (£22)

There's nothing like a bit of on trend neck candy to add a fashionable and stylish touch to any outfit and this necklace (£7.99) does the trick

I need to try and be sensible now until the bulk of the new season pieces hit the shops... Who am I kidding?!

Festival Fever

A few months ago I thought it would be a good idea to buy tickets for two different festivals, 2 days in a row. I'm not sure if that will be a good idea in future as at 26, I'm getting on a bit and I struggled to keep up my energy levels! I had a great time though and we've been so lucky with the nice weather

On Friday I went to Lovebox in Victoria park with 2 of my friends. I really enjoyed Julio Bashmore and Disclosure's sets as that's my kind of music. (aside from old skool) The outfit of choice was a vest from New Look which cost around £10, Berska shorts (£10) a fringed waist coat from New Look (bought last summer) and a straw trilby from asos (around £10)

On Saturday I went to EDC with a big group of friends and decided to wear a neon New look dress (£20) over a lace top from forever 21. It was a last minute outfit choice and I didn't know what to do with my hair (plaits were just not working) so I decided to tie a scarf around it. I'm still not sure about it but at least it was different and stood out from the sea of floral headbands. I enjoyed most of the music but I'm definitely more of a deep house kind of girl

Did anyone else go to Lovebox or EDC? What did you think?

Itsie Bitsie, Teeny Weeny...

On Wednesday evening I was lucky enough to be invited to the Bloggers Love Itsie Bitsie event which featured a fashion show showcasing gorgeous Itsie Bitsie swimwear. It definitely got me in the mood for my holiday in early September and I plan to visit the website very soon to try and purchase my favourite bikini from the collection below. I love the shade of blue and although I probably won't do it justice like the glamazon model it's definitely a holiday must have

There were some fabulous pieces, all perfect for poolside posing, some of which are pictured below

Another favourite is the red ruffle bikini but there were so many to choose from. Why not have a look for yourself at itsiebitsie.com

There was also a selection of beach wear on display such as floaty kaftans and maxi dresses

My favourite is the snakeskin number below which is the perfect beach to bar attire

Now all I need is a sunlounger, swimming pool and a large Pina Colada

Palms to the Sky

So yesterday was my 5th year a Wireless but my first year in the Olympic Park. It's a pretty good venue but the walk to and from the train station and between stages is so long, especially in 30 degree heat. Needless to say, my legs are aching today as I'm not used to so much exercise! I had a great day and got to see Rita Ora for the first time and Jay Z for the second time. I wanted to go for a hippie/boho look to go wwith my Crown and Glory floral headband so I wore a tie dye dress and fringed kimono from Ebay with Primark socks and Converse. My sunglasses are from Topshop

I originally wore my New Look fringed sandals but thought better of it as I know how messy festivals can get with dirt and rubbish and I thought converse would be more comfortable. At one point Sam and Billie Faiers from The Only Way is Essex were standing behind us. They looked lovely, seemed really down to Earth and were enjoying themselves.
One thing I saw way too much of though was bum cheek! I'm sorry but super short shorts belong on the beach and those glorified knicker things belong on Lady GaGa. Even if I had the legs and bum for them I would feel so exposed with everything hanging out at a festival

Primark Mini Haul

I try to wean myself off Primark but every time I'm within sniffing distance of a store I can't help but walk out with a big bag of goodies. There is just nowhere else like it and it's the place where my money seems to go the furthest. I popped in there Saturday morning and loaded up a basket full of bargains. I bought some basic vest tops to wear under sheer tops and a pair of pyjamas but I thought I'd share my favourite pieces with you

I love tops with a pretty detail on the collar and this little beauty ticks all the boxes. It's a great shape, classic colour and only cost £12.

This very summery dress instantly makes me think of strolls around the park and picnics in the sun. It even has an in-built petticoat in the skirt which is great value for £17

In case you hadn't realised by now, blue is my favourite colour. Baby blue is such a summer shade and polkadots are always cute. The fabric is really soft too and the shirt only cost £8

See my previous post for a denim skirt, also purchased during the mini haul! I probably won't get the chance to post again until Sunday now as I'm round the boyfriend's after work tomorrow, out for a meal Friday night then at Wireless on Saturday but follow me on Instagram to keep up with my antics and outfits; @ChelseyPrentice

My Weekend in Outfits

Did anyone do anything interesting or exciting over the sun-soaked weekend we've just had? I tried to make the most of the weather and got out as much as I could. On Friday which was the first scorching day I wore my New Look polka dot skirt and Primark peplum top for work with Zara sandals and my favourite New Look necklace

On Friday night I went for a few drinks with my friend who has spent the past 2 years in Australia so it was great to see her and have a catch up. I changed into a white and neon yellow lace dress from Max C at TK Maxx. The zip was a bit awkward to do up and I needed some help from the boyfriend but I think it's a cute summer dress and it only cost around £16

On Saturday it was another beautiful day and very hot so I went to Canary Wharf with my boyfriend for some drinks and a breadboard outside Browns, then we walked to The Narrow in Limehouse for posh Fish and Chips. The only real downside to the nice weather is that I've been suffering with hayfever particularly badly recently and usually have a bright red, runny nose and sore, red, watery eyes which is not a good look and also very uncomfortable. My outfit is from Primark and I know the top and skirt both cost under £10 each so you can't really go wrong

On Saturday night I went for cocktails with 3 of my friends which was really fun. I also discovered that I really like the Cherry Cola cocktail in Slug and Lettuce! The outfit of Choice was a top and trousers bought in the recent Zara sale

Finally, On Sunday it was back to Canary Wharf with my boyfriend for a Wasabi lunch on the grass followed by drinks in Henry's Bar. I thought it was perfect weather for my Primark sun dress (£17)

I hope you all had a great sunny weekend

Lucky Dip

Who remembers those lucky bags you used to get as a child? I liked them as you never knew what treats you were going to get. Thats why when I saw the Alter Ego mystery selection box by Illamasqua on the Debenhams website I had to give it a go. It was reduced to £19.50 in the sale and you get 6 products which is such great value for money. Also the items and shades didn't disappoint so definitely worth the risk!

My 2 favourite products are the nail varnish in Collide which is a neon pink and the eyeshadow in Fame which is like an Emerald green. I've tried the eyeshadow and the pigment really packs a punch and creates a bright, bold and summery look

The powder blush in Create is a flattering shade and the intense lipgloss in Fury is a really nice texture and great shade for Autumn

I love the vanilla smell of both of these products and the Liquid Metal eyeshadow in Electrum creates a long lasting metallic shimmer on your eyelids. The lipstick in Encounter is actually more red and less orange than it looks in the photo and is a classic shade with a silky matte texture. This was a good introduction to the brand and I will definitely be using Illamasqua products in the future

Pick N' Mix

Recently, in magazines I've often seen fashion features with clashing prints that shouldn't go together but somehow work. I thought I'd give this look a go with some of the items I already have in my wardrobe. So, here are the results...

I bought my shirt from a local market last year, my skirt is from New Look, my sunglasses are from Jewellery by Jaymie and my neon wedges were a Primark bargain last year. I think that monochrome prints are an easier way to try this trend as you can mix them with all kinds of bright prints such as this Hawaiian style design. And by the way, I'm not pregnant, I just have a substantial food baby showing in these pictures! I'm waiting for the gym to open near me next month so I can be put through my paces and fight the flab

I'm holding my stomach in here! My top is an old one from Primark teamed with a Missguided skirt. I'm looking forward to my clothes fitting me better after I brave the gym. The good think about monocrome is you can get away with mixing different prints. I also plan to try out a stripe with a polkadot soon

Here's another monochrome/colourful print mash up. The dress is from River Island (£15 in the sale) and the jacket is from boohoo. The shoes are from Missguided and they have a mirrored heel which you can't see properly in this picture but I will feature these in a post in the near feature. This picture makes me want to fake tan my legs as they are looking pretty pasty! Also, please forgive the messy hair, I thought I'd try something different but I don't think I'll be going out with this hairstyle any time soon. I definitely want to do another post like this soon to see what other prints I can clash. Has anyone else tried this look?
